I created a set of Google Slides that I shared with everyone. So far I have created titles based on the outline given in the Iteration 4 documentation, as well as some brief notes (in orange) of what I expect each slide will contain in terms of info so that anyone can go in and add if needed. Also, some images are put in, but will likely have to be swapped out for simplified versions (at least in the case of my crazy class diagram/mazes)

awesome! ill take a look in a bit

tysm for getting started on the slides my dude!

Now worries, feels like the least I can do at this point
Avatar
just checked it out, it looks good

I added a few notes and screenshots of our Discord and Github workflow, as well as our branches (edited)

Im not sure how you want to organise photos @Brandon so I just made a new slide with screenshots

I suck at making nice presentation layouts with images
Avatar
I'll take a look, thanks Eric. I didn't have anything particularly in mind, but I'll do my best to make it look nice
Avatar
I'm not super sure how to contribute but I'm here to help in any way. Totally happy to do the live demo as well if yall want

Simplified diagrams have been replaced into the Presentation Slides. I also moved my little notes actually into the speaker notes. Feel free to add to things (specifically Speaker Notes), especially if you did a major part of the designing for that particular area
21:01
Also, thank you Eric for the contributions. As for laying out the images, I think what you did is fine. When they are big images like that, there's not much you can do other than put them on a slide.
Avatar
im happy to put some notes in there, i just have a hard time drawing the line of whats too technical and not enough technical
21:02
no worries in the images, they can be slides tyhat we quickly go through yk?
21:02
love the new images you did!
Avatar
Yeah, I think that's the idea. They dont need to read everything on them, just get the general ideas. Also thanks, I pretty much took the old ones and cut almost all the info to make em clean
Avatar
I added some more notes to the various slides' Speaker Notes which should help guide or presentation. Some of the specific areas (like all the screens) I don't know enough of the specifics, so if Eric or someone else wants to add notes, that's what they're there for. Feel free to use these notes as little or as much as you like (within reason, no paragraph long notes please)
21:40
@everyone I am particularly struggling with the Future Changes slide (representing additions or alterations we could make to the current iterations) and the Design Changes (representing overall changes we would go back and make if we did this again) slides, so please if you have some ideas go in and add them. Thanks!

I'm totally down to add some notes about how the screen system works etc. Do you want me to talk about how we basically wrote our own graphics system because java components look ugly?
21:43
I'm happy to write about anything client side, I just also dont want to bore the audience to death on the nite gritty
21:43
Tysm for working in the slides, I'll take a look before I go to bed
Avatar
No worries, honestly it feels like pretty lightweight work compared to everything else. Just glad I can contribute. And yeah, I figured since you did a lot of work on the Screens and such you can add to them. All I can say about boring the audience for now is use your best judgement. If you get tired looking at your own notes, its probably too much 😉
Avatar
I’ll be working on them tomorrow and over the weekend!

That'd be great, thanks Seth

Sounds good. Do you think having code snippits would be useful to flick through while talking, or do you think just the Gui Design image?
21:49
I just want to keep the audence engaged
21:50
Its relitively easy to make color coded code snippits while explaining a cetrtian class or method etc
Avatar
Images of the GUI are the way I think to go to keep them engaged. If you're gonna include code snippits I'd keep it brief. If you feel its helpful that's fine though
21:50
I think the Design of the code is really what's important here moreso than the exact implementation
Avatar
okay
21:55
just want to make sure I am going with what your overall look and feel of the presentation is
Avatar
Oh my overall look? Well if you can figure out what that is, please let me know. But for real, I wouldn't think too hard on it. Its just a simple class presentation. I'll keep looking at the slides, so if something really were to be off, I'd reach out and ask about it. But since its a group presentation, I doubt it

@Brandon im falling asleep but I got some stuff written down. Hopefully its coherient, but moist likely will need to be reordered or trimmed
23:03
I am happy to elaborate on mroe things this weekend if nessessarry, or work on any other slides. I just sort of don't know how to help, but if pointed in a direction i am here and willing to help!

@everyone Do we want to talk after class about where we are all at?
